Woodland creation for biodiversity
The West Field Wood in Somerset is a hands-on project to plant trees, restore ancient woodland and create a tapestry of habitats. The aim is to boost biodiversity and sequester carbon. The West Field Wood is their first "proof of concept" project. Having secured their first 12 acres of land in deeply rural Somerset and planted 2000 trees, Wood Could Should want support to enable them to secure more land and plant more trees. Having the community involved and encouraging people to participate in the project is another key aim.
